This unprecedented project for our association requires exceptional funds: individuals, companies... This amount is the minimum to achieve.
The more resources we have, the more we will be able to envisage a bright future for many animals.

ALWAYS MORE ANIMALS TO COLLECT AND FEW PLACES
Over the years, the Tonga Terre d'Accueil association has already been able, with the help of animal protection associations, to place lions in sanctuaries in Africa. But these placements are rare because the sanctuaries have few places.
In addition, the French zoological parks, which support the association's action as much as possible depending on their spaces, cannot take care of the very large number of animals to be placed.
CURRENT PROBLEMS
We are facing the explosion of animal trafficking, in particular that of servals illegally held by individuals and, following the vote of the law putting an end to the detention of wild animals in traveling circuses in 2028, we support also circuses in their transition by taking care of their animals: we therefore have a lot of animals to help.
We are very happy to work with Sanwild Sanctuary again since it is to this sanctuary that the hippopotamus Tonga left in 2007 to live alongside Aldo, another hippopotamus from a French circus.
The ROAR project is therefore a strong symbol: forging an alliance for the future of our animals with the sanctuary which welcomed the animal at the origin of the creation of our association.
SanWild Sanctuary is a 3000 hectare reserve located in the north-east of South Africa, just a few kilometers from the famous Krüger Park. Its particularity is to act as a wildlife care and rehabilitation center by caring for and rehabilitating animals injured in the wild (cheetahs, zebras, pangolins, etc.).
Part of the reserve is dedicated to animals that cannot be released: lions from breeding farms in South Africa, hyenas or lions from zoos, while working for the protection of rhinos and elephants, and fighting against poaching.
SanWild Sanctuary's philosophy aligns perfectly with ours. Our common goal is to offer the best possible living conditions for animals.
We thank its president, Didi Schoeman, as well as all its teams for setting up this exceptional project. The ROAR PROJECT is a perfect continuation of the work of Louise Joubert, founder of the sanctuary.
We would like to warmly thank Air France KLM Martinair Cargo for fully covering the flight costs for all the animals! Exceptional aid which allows direct support for the fight against animal trafficking and the transition of circuses without wild animals.
A significant sum but significantly lower than the costs in France, whether for building enclosures or maintaining the animals.
Indeed, the facilities here in Saint-Martin-la-Plaine require heated buildings unlike in South Africa. In addition, the cost of equipment for a 4 hectare enclosure and labor would be at least 10 times higher here. The annual cost of maintaining a lion (food/care) is more than €7,500 in our refuge compared to €5,000 in South Africa.
A substantial budget but which therefore remains advantageous.
The two most generous donors will be able to follow the animals to South Africa!
In order to live this adventure with us 200%, we are giving two people the opportunity to follow the animals' journey from our shelter to their release in South Africa!
NB: all costs (flights, accommodation, etc.) will be the responsibility of the participants.
